Exploring Account Leaderboard

Table of Contents

The Solscan Account Leaderboard ranks Solana accounts by their estimated total asset value. It provides a quick way to identify the largest accounts on Solana and understand how their holdings are distributed across native SOL, staked SOL, and other tokens.

Because balances and token prices change continuously, the leaderboard should be treated as a current on-chain snapshot rather than a permanent ranking of the richest Solana wallets.

You can also open the Solscan Account Leaderboard directly.

Account Leaderboard Overview

Each row represents a Solana account included in the ranking. Solscan calculates its estimated total value from three main categories:

  • Native SOL held by the account
  • SOL delegated through staking
  • Other token balances with available price data

The leaderboard separates these values so users can distinguish between liquid SOL, staked assets, and token holdings instead of relying only on a combined balance.

Understanding the Leaderboard Columns

The Account Leaderboard includes the following columns:

Account Leaderboard Section’s Columns

1. No.: Displays the account’s position based on the current sorting order.

The order can change when users sort the table by different value columns. It may also update as account balances, staking positions, and token prices change.

2. Account: Shows the public address of the Solana account.

Where available, Solscan also displays an identity label associated with the address. Selecting an account opens its Account Details page, where users can review its portfolio and on-chain activity.

3. SOL Native Value: Shows the estimated value of native SOL held directly in the account.

This represents liquid SOL and is separate from SOL assigned to staking positions.

4. SOL Stake Value: Shows the estimated value of SOL associated with the account’s staking positions.

Separating this figure from native SOL provides a clearer view of how much of the account’s SOL exposure is staked rather than held as a liquid balance.

5. Token Balance Value: Shows the combined estimated value of other tokens held by the account.

This figure depends on the balances indexed by Solscan and the availability of token pricing data. Tokens without a supported or reliable price may not contribute to the displayed value.

6. Total Value: Shows the account’s combined estimated asset value:

Total Value = SOL Native Value + SOL Stake Value + Token Balance Value

This metric determines the account’s overall position on the leaderboard.

7. Tags: Displays Solscan extra tags associated with the account.

Extra tags add context by identifying known exchanges, protocols, treasury accounts, program-related wallets, or other labeled entities. An account may have no visible tag if its owner or purpose has not been identified.

How to Use the Account Leaderboard

The Account Leaderboard supports on-chain research by helping you identify high-value Solana accounts, compare how their holdings are distributed across SOL Native Value, SOL Stake Value, and Token Balance Value, and research labeled entities through the Tags column. Use it as a starting point for wallet analysis: rankings provide a high-level comparison, while the Account Details page offers more detailed portfolio and activity data.

A high ranking does not necessarily indicate an individual wallet. Leading accounts may be controlled by exchanges, protocols, custodians, treasuries, or other organizations.

Important Considerations

The Account Leaderboard provides an estimate based on indexed on-chain balances and available pricing data. When interpreting the rankings, keep the following limitations in mind:

  • Rankings are dynamic: Transfers, staking activity, and token price movements can change an account’s position.
  • Total value is an estimate: Displayed values depend on available market pricing and may not reflect the exact amount obtainable through a sale.
  • Some tokens may lack pricing data: Their balances may not be fully represented in the calculated token value.
  • An address is not always one user: One entity may control multiple accounts, while custodial accounts may hold assets for many users.
  • High account value does not imply ownership: Program-controlled accounts, liquidity pools, treasuries, exchanges, and custodians can appear among large accounts.
  • Tags provide context, not proof of control: Labels help identify known relationships but should be considered alongside transaction history and other on-chain evidence.

Conclusion

The Solscan Account Leaderboard provides a transparent overview of high-value accounts across Solana. By separating native SOL, staked SOL, and token balance values, it helps users understand both the scale and composition of each ranked account’s holdings.

For researchers, analysts, and Solana users, the leaderboard is a useful starting point for finding significant accounts, identifying labeled entities, and continuing into detailed on-chain wallet analysis.
